MY PERSONAL STORY:.
I am a 29 yr. old mother of six who lost her kids to the state for "failure to protect". I was married to an abusive man.He only hit one of my sons once, which I put an immediate stop to. I went to jail and paid a big fine for protecting my son, who was 3 yrs. old at the time.
I lost my two oldest, Dustin-23 mos. and Christopher-5 mos., when I was 17 yrs. old. I did not know the law or how to fight back. After almost two years, my rights were terminated. I then had my son Joshua, who I lost at the age of 3yrs.11mos. I fought in court for 3 yrs., then had my rights terminated on him. Then I lost two of my girls, Jaylin-2yrs.4mos. and Annie-almost 9mos.,even though I had asked for help many times in keeping my abuser away from my home and children. I was always told that he had rights too. While fighting this custody battle, I had Ashli. She was taken from me 5 minutes after her birth.I have been in shelters for abused women, asked for help in protecting my kids, and see how the system helped us. They punished my children for what my abuser did. Many times he has laughed in my face over my loss.I am no longer with him, but will never be completely free until the system stops him. So many agencies say they will help you, but then you are left alone to deal with the abuse, torment, harrassment, and so on. In the end, you lose more than you will ever gain.I may have lost the court battle, but I made a promise to my kids that I would never give up fighting for them. So no matter how painful this is, I will do everything in my power to stand up and speak out against the injustices we have suffered.
My goal is to make others aware of the fact that people need to speak out for our nations children. You fear someone will take revenge if you stand up for your rights? How do you think these children feel? Once you lose your family, there is nothing anyone can do to hurt you. Which is more important to you: your fear? or your children? You need to decide. One person alone cannot change things. But together, we can move mountains!

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK:
Wayne and my family for standing behind me and giving me the encouragement needed to keep going. I love all of them very much. And a very special thanks to my Mom for always being there for me when I needed a shoulder to cry on.
